Scotland's Secret Bunker

Scotland’s Secret Bunker isn’t really much of a secret these days, but for over 40 years this bunker was hidden beneath an unassuming Scottish farmhouse. 24,000 square feet of accommodation, equivalent to the size of two football pitches, was designed to create a home for the Government, had we been faced with Nuclear War. Come and see for yourself, Scotland's Secret Underground Nuclear Command Centre, near St Andrews. Today the site is a museum unlike any other, depicting how people would have lived in these levels almost 100 feet underground. There are various rooms containing exhibitions for you to observe, such as the RAF Operations rooms where you can view the command centre that almost was. A chapel, the bedrooms and even a BBC radio station are all created in the greatest detail, and there are Russian Anti-Aircrafts and military vehicles to see outside. There’s also a restaurant built into the original canteen, with a fully-equipped kitchen that was supposed to feed 300 persons simultaneously. Finally, the bunker shop sells a myriad of related ephemera such as bullet key-rings, t-shirts, videos and books.
